Founded in 2005, the Performa Biennial is recognized as the first biennial to highlight the significance of performance in art history. To honor its dedication to the performing arts and its connection to New York City, I centered the rebrand around the idea of movement—movement of artists on stage, movement of stage elements, and movement of the audience and visitors throughout the city.

The Performa Biennial occurs over three weeks. As a preview of the performances, I designed a brochure for each week of the festival, featuring the artists performing that week along with a map to help visitors navigate the various venues collaborating with Performa across the city.

For the spatial elements, I considered venues of different scales—smaller, independent spaces alongside larger venues.
